I-280 Soundwalls Project

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), in cooperation with the City of San Jose and the Department of Transportation (Caltrans), will construct soundwalls on I-280 between State Route 87 and Los Gatos Creek.

Project Features:

The improvements will include constructing new soundwalls along the following locations:

  • Northbound I-280 between the Caltrain tracks and the Los Gatos Creek Bridge
  • Southbound I-280 between the Los Gatos Creek Bridge and the Caltrain tracks
  • Southbound I-280 between the Caltrain tracks and Bird Avenue
  • Southbound I-280 between Bird Avenue and State Route 87

Community Outreach

VTA delivers outreach to the community in various ways, including email, web page postings like this, signage, tabling at events, presenting at neighborhood association meetings, and mail notifications, among others. We use multiple approaches to ensure the community is informed and allows for authentic engagement.
