What

Weather and conditions permitting, San Jose Water Company, and their contractor, Pacific Underground Construction (PUC), will continue relocating and installing new underground water lines along Capitol Avenue, next to the Crossroads Shopping Center.

Additional work to relocate a fire hydrant and fire suppression equipment will occur on the property in the sidewalk and landscape areas.

There is no anticipated impact to water service with this work. If there is any emergency disruption to water service, San Jose Water Company will immediately notify their customers.

During installation of the new fire suppression equipment in the landscape area and the new fire hydrant in the existing sidewalk, the sidewalk will be temporarily closed. Construction crews will assist pedestrians through the work zone safely to provide access to the shopping center.

Crossroads Shopping Center is located at 461 S. Capitol Avenue, activities are next to the driveway and within the sidewalk along Capitol Avenue. Work on Capitol Avenue in front the driveway will be done to minimize impacts and keep the driveway accessible. When activities are in front of the driveway, half of the driveway will remain open and construction crew will assist traffic accessing the shopping center.
