Newhall Yard Geotechnical Work Area

What

  • Contractors will be conducting geotechnical work (borings) at Newhall Yard to help prepare for VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Phase II Project. 

Where

  • VTA’s Newhall Yard property located off Brokaw Road in Santa Clara, CA. 

When

  • Vehicles will be accessing the site to do visual surveys in advance of the work. General working hours will be 6:00am – 4:00pm. Boring field work is planned during the following dates:
    • Monday 10/17 through Friday 11/14 (no weekend work)

* Please note that timelines for construction activity have some inherent uncertainty and may change depending on field conditions and/or inclement weather.

What To Expect

  • Workers will be onsite with a truck-mounted geotechnical drill rig to collect soil samples, groundwater data, install monitoring wells, and perform testing of the subsurface.
Why

This work is necessary to help prepare for VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Phase II Project.
