VTA completed the SR85 Noise Reduction Program (Phase 1) Study in 2016. VTA, in cooperation with the cities of San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Mountain View, and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes to implement the next pilot phase (Phase 2) of the SR 85 Noise Reduction Program on State Route (SR) 85 in Santa Clara County.
The purpose of this Phase 2 project is to:
- Test the noise reduction measures at five locations identified in Phase 1(see map)
- Re-examine the feasibility of implementing acoustically absorptive barrier treatment and/or barrier caps on the top of the existing noise barriers;
- Monitor and evaluate the efficacy of the noise treatments (Pavement surfacing) for implementation of a permanent solution to reduce noise level on SR 85 by a follow-on Phase 3 project.
Follow detour signage for temporary, intermittent ramp closures at:
Saratoga Avenue
Closure Details
The Saratoga Northbound on-ramp to Route 85 will be closed, requiring motorists to use alternate routes to access northbound Route 85.
