              What’s Happening:
- Crews are installing new median concrete barriers and trash capture devices
- Drainage improvements and inlet adjustments
- Paving and roadway surface work
- Shifting of temporary K-rail barriers to guide traffic safely
When:
Most work will happen overnight (8:00 PM – 5:00 AM) to reduce daytime traffic impacts. A small amount of daytime work may be required (removing old electrical boxes and replacing guardrails).
Where:
Along various stretches of SR 85 in San Jose, including the Saratoga Ave ramps and median sections.
What to Expect:
- Night lane closures and shifting traffic patterns
- Noise and lighting from construction during overnight hours
- Possible temporary ramp access changes near Saratoga and nearby interchanges
Why
              VTA’s SR 85 Noise Reduction Program is moving forward, and you may notice nighttime construction activity over the next few weeks (August 26 – September 15, 2025).

Traffic Impacts
              Ramp Closures & Detours:
The northbound SR 85 on-ramp at Saratoga Avenue will be closed nightly (8 PM–5 AM). Please follow detour signs.
If you're traveling northbound on Saratoga Avenue:
- Continue on Saratoga Ave
- LEFT on Lawrence Expressway
- LEFT on Prospect Rd
- RIGHT on De Anza Blvd
- LEFT onto NB SR 85 on-ramp
If you're traveling southbound on Saratoga Avenue:
- Continue on Saratoga Ave
- RIGHT on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd
- Continue on De Anza Blvd
- LEFT onto NB SR 85 on-ramp
