This work is essential to ensure that the proposed interchange design reflects current site conditions and meets community and transportation needs.
WHAT:
As part of the I-280 Winchester Blvd. Interchange Improvement Project, VTA will be conducting soil and groundwater investigation in the project area. Work entails drilling small holes ranging from 30 to 120
feet below ground surface to characterize soil and groundwater conditions Holes will be backfilled and the street surface will be restored upon completion.
Locations impacted:
- Tisch Way between Hatton St. and Monroe St.
- Tisch Way between Dudley Ave. and Winchester Blvd.
- Winchester Blvd. between Tisch Way and Moorpark Ave.
- Moorpark Ave. between Winchester Blvd. and the I-280 off-ramp.
- Winchester Blvd. between Moorpark Ave. and Magliocco Dr.
- Winchester Blvd. between Olsen Dr. and Tisch Way.
There will be noise associated with the drilling. Planned work is not anticipated to generate nuisance dust or odors.
No impacts to transit service are expected.
Traffic control measures, including lane and sidewalk closures, may be in place. Please use extra caution in the construction zone and be aware of any flagmen, signage, barricades, and cones.
