Come join VTA staff to celebrate international GIS (geographic information system) Day. This event is open to members of the public or technical professionals with an interest in geospatial and transportation data.  Learn about the many ways GIS can provide solutions for YOUR project needs.  Including public outreach and crowdsourcing, work assignments, and visualizing data via dashboards.

There will be lightning talks from VTA staff, interactive GIS stations, aerial photo challenge, prizes, and refreshments.  This year’s event is sponsored by ESRI, NearMap, and Latitude Geographics.

Find more information about GIS Day at http://www.gisday.com/.  Several hundred events occur each year worldwide during the week of November 12th to celebrate Geography and Geographic Information Systems.  They are grassroots events organized at local levels but supported by a variety of donors.
