Summer nights in Downtown San Jose just got a whole lot better. Starlight Saturdays, the San Jose Downtown Association's beloved free outdoor movie series, returns to St. James Park this July and August — and VTA light rail is your easiest ride to the fun.

Presented by UA Local Union 393 and co-produced by the San Jose Downtown Association and Filco Events, Starlight Saturdays features three free Saturday night events packed with live comedy, food trucks, lawn games, face painting, a beer garden, and of course, movies on the big screen. Events run from 6-10:30pm, with movies beginning at dusk. This is free and open to the public.

This Summer's Lineup

Three crowd-favorite films are hitting the big screen this season:

• July 18 – She's the Man (2006) | PG-13: When her brother ditches school, Viola takes his place at an elite boarding school, disguised as him.
• August 1 – Happy Gilmore (1996) | PG-13: A hot-headed hockey player trades in his skates for golf clubs to save his grandmother's house.
• August 15 – Bring It On (2000) | PG-13: A champion cheerleading squad scrambles to compete after discovering their routines were stolen.

Each night also features lawn games, face painting, themed trivia, prizes, and a beer garden — something for every member of the family.

Planning Your Trip

VTA light rail makes getting to St. James Park simple. Exit at the St. James Station and you're steps from the park. No parking, no hassle — just a great night out under the stars. Multiple bus routes also serve the downtown core, and five ParkSJ garages offer 90 minutes of free parking for those who prefer to drive. Visit ParkSJ.org for garage locations.
