Join VTA in Standing United Against Hate
10/17/2025

At VTA, we believe that public transit is more than buses, light rail, and facilities—it’s about people. Every day, thousands of riders, operators, and staff come together, sharing space and experiences across Santa Clara County. That’s why VTA is proud to stand with our community in recognizing United Against Hate Week, October 19-25, 2025, a nationwide initiative dedicated to building welcoming communities.

United Against Hate Week began as a grassroots movement to push back against rising messages of hate and division. Today, it continues to inspire communities like ours to reject hate and instead uplift kindness, respect, and understanding. VTA is committed to fostering an environment where all riders and employees feel safe and welcome, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or background.

This week, we encourage you to get involved:

  • Visit UnitedAgainstHateWeek.org to find community events and activations throughout Santa Clara County.
  • Join the conversation online with hashtags #UnitedAgainstHate and #UnitedAgainstHateWeek.
  • If you see hate on VTA, report it through the VTAlerts app or call 911 so that together we can keep our system safe.

Standing against hate is not a one-week effort, it’s daily practice. Whether it’s offering your seat to a fellow rider, showing kindness to a bus operator, or speaking out when you see discrimination, each action contributes to a safer, stronger, more united community.

At VTA, we’re committed to doing our part. Join us this week and every week in rejecting hate and embracing compassion. Together, we can ensure that Santa Clara County remains a place where everyone feels they belong.

Let’s be United Against Hate.
