Public invited to comment on Central Bikeway Feasibility Study
12/09/2021

After three previous rounds of public engagement and analysis, the community is once again invited to collaborate and provide feedback on the Central Bikeway Study draft report and conceptual design; both are now available for review. People reviewing the report can use the online comment tool to provide feedback on recommendations and conceptual design plans.

Review the Central Bikeway report here.

This draft report is your guide to the Central Bikeway Study. It covers the project vision, an overview of the alternatives studied, design concepts, engagement process, future implementation, and next steps.

Central Bikeway was launched in 2020. It seeks to create a bicycle superhighway that will provide a joyful, connected, comfortable bikeway between Santa Clara and North San José.

For those new to the project or anyone who may want a refresher before reading the draft report, a video of VTA’s September 2020 community meeting is available online. In this presentation, project leaders discussed how the preferred alternative was selected and the ways in which it meets community needs.

VTA plans to adopt the conceptual design plans and final report for the Central Bikeway Study in Spring 2022. Online comments on the draft plan will be accepted through December 31, 2021.
