The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) celebrated National Transit Career Day on Thursday, November 13, 2025, by hosting its inaugural Transit Careers Summit at the agency’s new headquarters at 488 Almaden Boulevard in San Jose. The sold-out event brought together students, recent graduates, and career seekers for a morning of interactive learning, networking, and behind-the-scenes insight into the transit industry.

One of the standout moments of the summit was a featured presentation on Exoskeleton Technology in Transit Maintenance. Attendees witnessed firsthand how wearable robotics are beginning to reshape maintenance work, enhancing safety, improving efficiency, and supporting the long-term well-being of transit employees.

Throughout the morning, participants engaged in a variety of activities including panel discussions, interactive demonstrations, resume reviews, and career exploration sessions led by VTA staff. The summit opened with remarks from VTA leadership and wrapped up with small-group “career-changing chats” with executives, giving attendees a unique opportunity to hear directly from decision-makers about growth pathways, innovation, and the future of transit careers.
