Schedule at a Glance

  • Aug. 24–25: Excavation, underground/drainage work and temporary electrical work near the southbound ramps.
  • Aug. 26–28: Continued excavation, underground installation, backfilling and drainage work.
  • Aug. 31–Sept. 1: Material deliveries, temporary electrical work near the southbound ramps and temporary paving.

NOTE: Construction schedules are subject to change based on field conditions, weather and contractor operations.

Why

Construction is continuing on VTA’s I-280/Wolfe Road Interchange Project in Cupertino. Drivers, nearby residents, and hotel guests should expect construction activity in and around the interchange during the next two weeks.

Traffic Impacts

Temporary electrical work is scheduled near the southbound I-280 ramps on August 24–25 and August 31–September 1. Monday through Friday, between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM each week. 

There are NO lane, on-ramp, or off-ramp closures for the next two weeks. However, drivers should:

  • Slow down and use caution near the construction zone.
  • Watch for construction vehicles, workers, and material deliveries.
  • Follow all posted signs and traffic-control directions.
  • Allow additional travel time when approaching the I-280/Wolfe Road interchange.

No Night Work Scheduled

All activity is day work only for August 23–September 5. There is NO nighttime construction.
