What

The Intersection of Wilbur Ave and S. Capitol Ave will be closed to through vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the East and Westbound directions.

Why

Crews will be removing/placing light rail tracks in the middle of the intersection, as well as making other improvements to light rail infrastructure. 

Detour

Vehicles will need to U-turn at Alum Rock Avenue.

Community Impacts

Adjacent community members may hear construction noises, including voices, hammering, items dropping/clanging, and backup alarms from heavy equipment. Residents may also see lights necessary to illuminate the worksite.

Service Impacts

Light Rail stations on the Orange Line between Berryessa and Alum Rock will be closed and served by a bus bridge. There will be additional service impacts to westbound Route 23 & 25. Please allow extra time for travel. Visit vta.org/railrehab for more information about light rail impacts.
