Night Work & Temporary Southbound On/Off-Ramp Closures: September 22-26, between 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Monday-Friday) Southbound off and on ramps, and the Southbound # 2 Lane - Trabajos nocturnos y cierres temporales de las rampas de entrada y salida en dirección sur: 22-26 de septiembre, de 21:00 a 0600 (lunes a viernes) Rampas de entrada y salida en dirección sur y carril 2 en dirección sur.

Traffic Advisory: US 101/SR 25 Interchange in Gilroy

Upcoming Work and Traffic Impacts (Sept. 22 – 26, 2025)

Key Construction Activities:

  • Roadway Work: Crews will be paving, grading, and installing new lighting and temporary signals at multiple project locations.
  • Mesa Road: Excavation and grading work are scheduled.
  • Bridge Foundations: Work on drilled shafts and abutments continues at the new US 101/SR 25 connector and the SR 25/US 101 separation.
  • Hillside Retaining Wall: Rebar work and cable railing installation through late September.

VTA continues construction on the US 101/SR 25 Interchange Project in Gilroy. Next week, motorists and nearby residents can expect the following construction activities and impacts.

Detour
Night Work, Southbound On/Off-Ramp Closures and Detours:
  • September 22-26, between 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Monday-Friday), Southbound off and on ramps, and the Southbound # 2 Lane.
Detour Route for Overnight closure of the US 101 southbound on-ramp:
  • Continue north on SR 25
  • Follow detour signs onto Monterey Road
  • Reconnect to southbound US 101 at the Monterey Road interchange
Detour Route for Overnight closure of the US 101 southbound off-ramp:
  • Continue south on US 101 to Betabel Road
  • Betabel Road to Northbound US 101
  • Northbound US 101 to Southbound SR 25
Community Impacts
  • Night Work: Excavation and soil hauling will occur at night during this period.
  • Traffic Breaks on US 101: Short, intermittent traffic stops in coordination with CHP for safe delivery of large structural materials.
  • Lighting and Noise: Nighttime work may generate additional lighting and construction noise in the vicinity of the project.
