Overnight Southbound #2 lane closed next Monday (6/8/26)
What to expect
One southbound lane will remain open during the closure. Expect reduced speeds and potential delays. Allow extra travel time if driving northbound on US 101 through Gilroy late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Construction Activities (June 8–12)
Multiple crews will be working simultaneously throughout the interchange. Drivers should remain alert and observe all posted speed reductions and signage in these areas.
- Bridge construction and formwork on the connector structure continue all week. Expect crews and equipment near the roadway.
- Excavation and deep foundation (pile) work is ongoing all week. Heavy equipment will be operating in the area.
- Underground utility and electrical installation work continues throughout the week. Lane shifts and traffic control may be in place.
- Concrete formwork and drainage pipe installation are in progress all week. Workers and equipment will be present.
- Retaining wall forming and rebar installation are ongoing. A concrete pour is planned for Friday, June 20 — additional traffic impacts may be announced closer to that date.

Overnight Southbound #2 lane closed next Monday, June 8, from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM
Concrete K-rail barriers will be installed along this stretch to physically separate traffic from the active construction zone. This closure is in direct response to a recent increase in vehicles unintentionally entering work areas and endangering construction workers.
Recommended action
If possible, use alternate routes such as Thomas Road or Luchessa Avenue to bypass this section of US 101 during closure hours.

Please drive safely through all construction zones
Speed limits are reduced in all active construction areas. Fines are doubled for speeding in construction zones when workers are present.
Please stay in your lane, avoid distractions, and follow instructions from flaggers and traffic control personnel. Construction workers are working nearby — your attention matters.
VTA appreciates the public’s patience as work continues to improve safety and mobility along the US 101/SR 25 interchange corridor.
