Nighttime Traffic Breaks β US 101 Median (Bridge support work)
Dates: Tuesday, November 25 β Thursday, November 27
Times: Nighttime hours (CHP-led traffic breaks)
Location: US 101, near the SR 25 separation/median
Thanksgiving Week Note: No lane closures next week. Closures will be planned after the holidays, starting Dec 1st.
Drivers should expect:
- Intermittent, short-term traffic stops
- Delays during nighttime travel
- Presence of CHP and construction trucks entering/exiting the median
Pile Driving Operations β US 101/SR 25 Connector Area
Dates: Thursday, November 27 β Friday, November 28
Location: Southbound US 101βEastbound SR 25 Connector (near bridge support work)
Drivers should expect:
- Construction noise in the area
- Slow-moving vehicles and work crews near the roadway
- Possible brief delays as equipment moves around the work zone
Various Work Along SR 25 and Project Areas
Work throughout the week includes:
- Drainage installation near the B Line
- Concrete, rebar, and formwork at multiple bridge locations
- Survey crews working near the Abutment (Bridge support work)
- These activities may involve trucks, equipment, and workers near highway shoulders or ramp areas.
- No major lane closures are planned aside from the nighttime breaks noted above.
VTA and its construction partners will continue work on the US 101/SR 25 Interchange Project in Gilroy. Drivers should expect periodic nighttime impacts, construction activity near the roadway, and occasional delays throughout the week.
Travel Tips for the Week
- Use caution when driving near work zones and obey reduced speeds.
- Expect nighttime delays on US 101 near SR 25 between Nov 25β27.
- Plan extra travel time, especially if driving late evening or overnight.
- Watch for construction crews and equipment entering or exiting the roadway.
