VTA continues construction activities for the US 101/SR 25 Interchange Improvement Project in Gilroy. Work this week will focus on bridge foundation work, roadway grading, and safety barrier removal.

Date: Monday, November 17 – Friday, November 21, 2025
Work Hours: Daytime construction with intermittent nighttime lane closures on northbound US 101. Night work between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
Location: Construction zones are active along US 101 near SR 25 and adjacent connector ramps.

Ongoing and Upcoming Work

  • Bridge Construction: Crews will continue forming and pouring bridge columns and abutments for the new US 101/SR 25 connector and separation structures. Equipment will be moved into the freeway median during overnight hours, requiring short traffic breaks and US 101 northbound #1 lane closures.
  • Roadway Grading: Grading, compaction will continue along the Highway 101 median.
  • Barrier and Electrical Work: Crews are removing temporary barriers and continuing electrical installations in the median area.
  • Stormwater and Environmental Work: Regular stormwater protection inspections and environmental monitoring (archaeological and paleontological) will be ongoing.
