2016 Measure B Transparency Website Testing Signup
Want to help make sure VTA’s 2016 Measure B sales tax spending is transparent?
VTA is developing a transparency website to give everyone access to the latest information about 2016 Measure B revenue and spending. We’re looking for people to help us test a prototype over the next week.
We have limited space available for this initial round of testing and we need a balance of different types of users, so sign up below by Monday 2/24 if you’re interested. If you’re not selected now, we plan to release a public beta site soon and you’ll be among the first to see it.
Citizens Advisory Committee Application
VTA invites Santa Clara County residents to apply for the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) through this open and competitive online application process.
The CAC advises the VTA Board of Directors on transportation policy issues and initiatives. The Committee also serves as the ballot-defined independent Citizens Watchdog Committee (CWC) for the 2000 Measure A Transit Sales Tax.
Members are appointed to represent stakeholder groups from either of two broad categories:
- Community & Societal Interests
- Business & Labor
The selection process seeks a balance of relevant background, experience, and targeted stakeholder constituencies.
Selected and appointed members serve a four (4) year term and are limited to two (2) consecutive terms. The CAC generally meets once a month, on the Wednesday following the first Thursday. Meeting normally last two (2) hours or less.
Eligibility: Member must be a resident of Santa Clara County during their term. Members of any VTA committee, elected public officials at any level of government, and VTA employees are ineligible to apply.
For questions or more information about the Citizens Advisory Committee or the application process, please visit: www.bit.ly/vta-cac-cwc-agendas or contact the VTA Board Office at board.secretary@vta.org or 408.321.5680.
Committee for Transportation Mobility & Accessibility Application
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority formed a Committee for Transportation Mobility & Accessibility to facilitate communications and receive input from interested individuals with disabilities and from human service agencies.
The Committee advises the VTA Board of Directors on transportation mobility and accessibility issues for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, paratransit services, accessibility to VTA transit services, and VTA's efforts to fully comply with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- The Committee is composed of 17 members.
- Regular meetings of the Committee are held every other month.
- Committee members should be prepared to devote approximately four to eight (4 – 8) hours per month to Committee activities.
- The Committee does not have independent duties or authority to take action that binds the VTA Board of Directors.
We appreciate your interest in serving VTA and will keep your application on file for one (1) year from the date of receipt.
If you have any questions about this application or the Committee for Transportation Mobility & Accessibility, please contact the Office of the Board Secretary, at board.secretary@vta.org or (408) 321-5680.

2016 Measure B Citizens' Oversight Committee Application
In November 2016 the voters of Santa Clara County approved 2016 Measure B to enact a 30-year half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements.
The ballot measure specified that the revenues and expenses would be reviewed by an independent citizens oversight committee appointed by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). The committee will audit and report on the performance of VTA and the various project sponsors to ensure the funds are being expended consistent with the approved programs in the measure.
VTA seeks eight candidates for this committee through this open application process. Candidates must be registered to vote in Santa Clara County and the selection process will seek a balance of relevant professional experience.
The term will be four years, and appointments will be recommended by Governance & Audit Committee for ratification by the full VTA Board of Directors.
