East San Jose is set to celebrate its vibrant lowriding heritage with the second annual Parade and Festival this Sunday, May 4th, 2025. Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, this year's festival promises to be even more festive and memorable, reclaiming the historic streets once known as the Capitol of Lowriding in Northern California.
The celebration will feature a stunning parade showcasing hundreds of lowriders paying tribute to the community's rich Chicano and Mexican roots and traditions. The procession of rolling works of art will begin at 9 a.m. on King Road, near Alum Rock Avenue, and will cruise down to Emma Prusch Farm Park.
Upon reaching Emma Prusch Farm Park, attendees can immerse themselves in a lively festival atmosphere. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the park will come alive with community resource tables, a diverse array of local food vendors, talented artisans displaying their unique creations, live music performances, and an assortment of family-friendly activities for all ages to enjoy. Look for the VTA booth at the festival to learn more about local transportation options and projects!
Please be advised that King Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from early morning until the conclusion of the event to accommodate the parade and festival activities. Additionally, the King Road exit from Highway 680 will also be temporarily closed.
