VTA Special Teams is Ready for Kickoff!
09/28/2021

On Sunday, October 3, at 1:05p.m., the SF 49ers will take on the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium and the VTA Special Teams Unit is prepping now to make taking transit to the game the easy play.

Light rail pre-event service begins 2 hours prior to kickoff:

  • Service from the Mountain View Transit Center and Milpitas Transit Center including connections from Caltrain and Milpitas BART will run every 15 minutes.
  • Service from the Convention Center light rail station will run every 15 minutes.
  • Service from the Santa Teresa light rail station will run every 30 minutes (transfer required).
  • Service from the Winchester light rail station will run every 30 minutes.

Light rail post-event service will run up to one hour past the end of the game. The Lick Mill and Old Ironsides Stations will be closed for 60 minutes after the end of the game, so boarding will be at the Great America light rail station only.

If you plan to drive to the Milpitas Transit Center and take light rail to the game, we recommend paying in advance for parking permits online or on your smartphone with the Passport app (for daily permits only). The Passport app is available on the App store and Google Play store. This will help you avoid long lines at the parking kiosks. You can find more info on parking at Silicon Valley BART stations here.

Fare collection will resume effective October 1, so be sure to download the Clipper mobile app for easy fare payment. The app is available on the App store or Google Play store. This will make paying for your trip on light rail or bus seamless. Tickets already purchased on the EZfare app expire on December 31, 2021.
