Community Design and Transportation (CDT)

Body

The Community Design and Transportation Manual (CDT) is designed to inspire new thinking about the form and function of growth, broaden and strengthen the range of transportation choices, and make the most efficient use of transportation and other resources in the county.

Design Guidelines

Design Guidelines are powerful tools for implementing best practices and supporting goals of improving the livability and character of the built environment. The CDT Design Guidelines focus on strategies for the design of the built environment, resulting in places that invite pedestrian activity, support transit, and building on the distinct qualities of each community.

Policy and Implementation

Translating the principles and practices identified as design guidelines into policies is key to making best practices a reality. Through planning and development processes, governing bodies enable development of pedestrian centric communities.
