Experiential Retail

Promote experiential retail in which a visit to the retail store or district offers a distinctive experience.

Create a brand or marketing strategy associated to the development area to enhance its identity as it relates to the surrounding community and activate the area through pop-up community festivals and events.

  • Encourage or require public art, preferably interactive and photographable, in new development to reflect the character of the local community and help draw in foot traffic.
  • Provide shared, communal spaces outside of retail stores such as child play areas, usable open space, and seating.
  • Streamline processes for businesses to integrate outdoor dining and/or parklets outside their storefront.
